Providence Health & Services Registered Nurse Fellow - Maternity Services (0.9 FTE, Nights) in Hood River, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Fellow - Maternity Services (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR.

This is a fellowship position that provides a great foundation through training. Training will likely take place in Hood River, Newberg, and Portland on multiple locations. Please note the ability to successfully train for this position in a requirement of hire. Start date for this Fellowship will be July 24th or August 7th.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment.

  • Work with a preceptor and assume increasing responsibility during thefellowship.

  • Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe,compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients andfamilies, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, andappropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.

  • Practice in accordancewith the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American NursesAssociation (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards ofpractice.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire

  • All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.

  • A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Unencumbered RN license in Oregon (OSBN)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • 12 months of nursing experience, but new to specialty of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
