Providence Health & Services ED Professional Practice & Development/Systems/Quality Manager (Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift) in Milwaukie, Oregon


Providence is calling a ED Professional Practice & Development/Systems/Quality Manager to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide leadership for clinical and operational performance and improvement initiatives for Emergency Services.

  • Manage systems that monitor Emergency Department (ED) quality performance, including data collection and information reporting.

  • Be accountable for program development and implementation of education and staff development for Oregon (OR) Emergency Services, including integration of educational activities to align with quality initiatives and regulatory requirements of ED staff.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school

  • Master's degree in relevant field; Master's degree in progress at time of hire is acceptable

  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from the Oregon State Board of Nursing

  • Trained in continuous improvement and change management programs including Lean, Six Sigma, CAP or equivalent

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

  • 5 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing

  • 2 years of formal leadership experience in nursing, education and/or quality

  • Demonstrated leadership experience including project management, change management, or quality management

  • Demonstrated experience in presentations before various audiences

  • Advanced knowledge of information systems including database management and system administration

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • National certification in specialty

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification/Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

  • 1 year of Emergency Department Management Experience
