Description:

Providence is calling a Retail Food Service Supervisor 2 (Rotating/Variable shift) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Direct daily operation of retail food service outlets including hiring and scheduling employees, employee evaluation, employee discipline, ordering food and supplies, cash handling, and operational reports.

  • Participate in development and implementation of menu items and practices and procedures related to the operation of the retail food service outlets.

  • Have a primary focus on cooking and preparing hot and cold food items using a variety of prep and production cooking equipment, following scratch recipes and department specifications.

  • Assure quality service and product is provided and operation standards are achieved.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • ServSafe Certification -or- current Multnomah or Washington County Food Handler’s certificate at hire

  • ServSafe Certification within 3 months of employment

  • 3-5 years of experience in food service; Knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through college course work, supervisory training, or equivalent knowledge

  • Knowledge of food service principles, basic supervisory principles

  • Understanding of retail profit and loss accounting practices

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English in order to communicate and give/follow instructions and directions

  • Math skills necessary to calculate food costs, daily cash balancing, etc.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Food service management experience
