Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Business Systems Analyst 2 to our location in Beaverton, OR.

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Business Systems Analyst 2 (level 4 is the highest experience level) to our location in Beaverton, OR. We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst who enjoys working with internal business stakeholders and external vendors to elicit, analyze, and document requirements for IT development initiatives related to Providence Health Plan’s health insurance services.

The Business Systems Analyst 2 will be the perfect mix of creative thinking about how we can continuously do things better, and will possess the enhanced written and verbal communication skills and the attention to detail to produce the documentation that our developers and test engineers need to make it happen.

As part of the Data Services team, you will be familiar with data design, data/process flows and data mappings. Our Agile method means that the work flows quickly through our teams. Most requirements are converted to workable user stories within days, with some larger initiatives taking weeks.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Knowledge Management.

  • Document processes and requirements such as user feedback, process workflows, data mappings, use cases, mockups / models, user acceptance criteria

  • Create well-formed user stories.

  • Create and update production support knowledge articles, change requests and system configurations.

  • Facilitate meetings and virtual sessions to understand, organize and document requirements at a high conceptual level accompanied with an appropriate level of supporting detail.

  • Produce audience-appropriate presentations, emails, and other forms of communication to deliver clear, concise information.

  • Bring your process improvement knowledge to assist our business stakeholders improve their internal business processes related to the IT changes being asked by them.

  • Identify and participate in solving team-level procedural, functional, interpersonal and communication issues including collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution.

  • Assist Test Engineers to prepare test data, create and execute test plans, analyze and process test results.

  • Actively participate in and continuously improve our Agile processes, ceremonies [e.g. Standups, Roadmap Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives] and work environment.

  • Be a champion of innovation within the IS department and company. Consistently contribute to efforts to innovate and improve processes, policies, techniques and best practices supporting the department and team goals.

  • Align work priorities according to the Information Services departmental goals, strategies, and product roadmaps.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years industry related experience OR;

  • Associate Degree plus 4 years industry related experience OR;

  • 6 years industry related experience.

  • Data Services experience-defining data design and mapping requirements. Basic understanding of SQL.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Demonstrated experience using LEAN techniques in analyzing requirements for potential automation.

  • IIBA certification.

  • ITIL certification.

  • Prior experience working in an Agile development environment.
