Providence Senior Manager, Health Equity in Beaverton, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Manager, Health Equity to our location in Beaverton, OR.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Health Equity to partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop and implement Health Equity strategies targeted at reducing health disparities across the Providence Health Plan membership. This role serves as the leader who ensures company programs and strategies are inclusive of Health Equity principals that drive better outcomes and service for all PHP members.
This position leads and facilitates the development, planning, management, and coordination of various Health Equity initiatives. The Senior Manager is responsible for maintaining strategic business relationships and is the point of contact for business partners, consultants and vendor relationships used to execute on the vision of Health Equity for all. This position is data driven, responsible for establishing outcome metrics tied to program deliverables that reflect the performance of new, innovative strategies to improve health outcomes for all members. The Senior Manager will represent the Health Plan in various settings, presenting the commitment, programs and improvements the Health Plan has set forth in relation to Health Equity, as well as demonstrate a keen sense of cultural competence and understanding of social and racial factors that may impact individuals' ability to access and receive needed healthcare disproportionately. The Senior Manager will demonstrate the Mission and Core Values of Providence in all facets their work.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Lead and partners with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement Health Equity initiatives to improve health outcomes for all PHP members.
Develop and maintain a Health Equity Plan that’s aligned with our Mission, the needs of those we serve and State and Federal administrators such as CMS and the Oregon Health Authority.
Lead steering teams and work groups to set the vision, identify opportunities and solutions, monitor outcomes, implement process improvements, provide oversight and track the work.
Lead and collaborate with provider, community and business partners, vendors and other stakeholders to implement innovative and targeted solutions to reduce health disparities.
Identify training opportunities for caregivers and provider partners that promote improvements in understanding and translating health equity issues driven by race, ethnicity, language, cultural and other social factors.
Participate in Health Plan oversight committees, prepare and present the Health Equity Plan, strategies, work initiatives and outcomes across multiple settings including the Health Plan oversight committees, PSJH – Population Health Division, as well as to various clients.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to insure vendor partners are actively addressing health inequities in accordance with the Health Equity Plan. Manage vendor relationships where appropriate.
Analyze and recommend re-engineering solutions to improve processes and documentation to reduce unconscious bias.
Assist and lead where appropriate, Health Equity-centered advisory councils and committees.
Work closely with Quality, Care Management, Clinical Analytics and other teams to evaluate gaps in care and implement plans to improve care, access and service to all.
Manage staff; interviews, hire, coach, train and develop performance standards and conduct performance and development plan evaluations as needed.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social or Health Sciences or closely related field.
8 years progressive leadership experience working in or with a managed care or health care organization or similar field.
5 years proactive efforts towards health equity, diversity or inclusion demonstrating health equity principles.
3 years demonstrable project management, program management and business analysis experience.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field or other advanced degree or relevant work experience and career advancement in a similar role.
Training in one or more of the following: Lean, Agile, six Sigma and Change Acceleration Process (CAP).
2 years change management experience, trained or versed in Lean principles and methodologies.
