Providence Supervisor Membership Accounting-Medicaid (Remote) in Beaverton, Oregon

Providence is calling a Supervisor Membership Accounting-Medicaid who will:

  • Be responsible for the daily management of enrollment and account reconciliation for the Health Plans Medicaid products and services

  • Coordinate with quality improvement initiatives, regulatory requirements, and ongoing day-to-day production needs

  • Support meeting member and group service needs and the Medicaid regulating body, The Oregon Health Authority's (OHA) which is specific to accurate and timely member enrollment, materials distribution, member status changes, the coordination of benefits with other payers and necessary coordination with claims and vendors for appropriate recovery

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the Medicaid Membership Accounting Team in one or more areas of enrollment, reconciliation, member mail generation, TPL and compliance

  • Achieve organizations performance standards for the following work processes:Medicaid and Indigent Enrollment functions, Member mail generation, Third Party Liability functions & Implementation work

  • Supervises coordination of all work, quality improvement activities, projects, objectives, and staffing of the department by working with their Manager, Director or the Director of Membership Accounting

  • Provides a supportive, team-based environment that facilitates group decision making and employee empowerment

  • Evaluates performance and initiates personnel actions such as hiring, merit increases, probationary and periodic reviews, promotions, transfers between teams, and disciplinary actions

  • Collaborate with the available Training Teams and resources to develop training curriculums for new staff and existing staff to stay current, to increase knowledge, and to become cross-functionally proficient

  • Fosters professional relationships with peers in Operations, Medicare Membership Accounting, Communications, Information Services, Regulatory, Account Managers, Plan staff, Provider Relations, and Pharmacy

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Works with peers on new products, benefit changes, and new lines of business in order to establish Membership Accounting procedures as well as the necessary system changes

  • Assists with regulatory audits and other regulatory issues and incident response

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field of study plus 4 years management/industry experience -OR- Associate's Degree plus 6 years related management/industry experience -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience

  • 2 years relevant leadership/supervisory experience in health care or related field serving Medicaid Membership

  • Experience in project management

  • Experience using on-line interfaces including PHP Intranet and the Internet

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Accounting background, and customer service experience
