Providence Health & Services System Administrator 3 Specialist in Beaverton, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a System Administrator 3 Specialist to our location in Beaverton, OR.
We are seeking a System Administrator 3 Specialist to perform a variety of technical administration, development, and support functions for Information Services. Specialists work with customers, vendors, consultants and other Information Services staff in performing their duties. On-call support is usually a requirement for a Specialist.
At times, specialists will be expected to assist PHS IS employees in other service areas. A specialist can advance through the two defined levels of this job category. There are six (6) major areas of activity: Education, Training, Experience, IS Team Involvement and Interactions, Technical Skills Project/Support Responsibilities Communication and Interpersonal Skills, and Business Knowledge.
To advance, an employee must attain increased education, skills, knowledge and abilities and must demonstrate an ability to assume the increased responsibilities and accountabilities of the higher level as designated in this Job Category Description and on the Job Title Specification Sheet.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
IS TEAM INVOLVEMENT/INTERACTION:
Participate in cross-functional teams and committees within Information Services Division, typically within an agile team working in a Kanban format. Uses appreciable originality on assignments; discusses or seeks approval on complex issues.
Contribute to the innovation and improvement of processes, policies, techniques and best practices supporting department and team goals.
Analyze work plans for operational impact and ensure plans are appropriately documented.
Able to analyze business problems and opportunities in relation to IAM, and provide effective solutions.
Demonstrate ability in managing sub tasks of technical projects.
Work closely with the business users and IS Teams to ensure solutions are effectively meeting business needs and preserve operational integrity.
Evaluate proposed changes to the environment and recommend appropriate remediation or enhancements. Identify security concerns.
Diagnose user problems/questions, and coordinate solutions for customers.
Track, report, identify problems and recommend solutions (escalate as necessary).
Support, test, coordinate or perform technology installations including: upgrades, moves, ads, changes, fixes, and patches.
System Administration skills including tool evaluation, performance monitoring, configuration management and recovery strategies.
Disaster Recovery Planning, acquisition planning, volume/capacity planning, and configuration planning.
Support and drive continual improvement across the team/department.
Act as a mentor to others on the team.
Lead team activities frequently.
Provide training to less experienced coworkers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years industry related experience OR;
Associate degree and 6 years of industry related experience OR;
8 years of industry related experience.
