We are seeking a Lead Recreational Therapist - Beaverton Day Center that will responsible for assisting the Rehab Manager and Site Operations Managers in providing clinical leadership of the WA PACE Recreation Therapy team. As a member of the recreation therapy leadership team this position is responsible for identifying best practice and providing assessment of recreation therapy staff skills, giving performance feedback related to clinical skills and clinical reasoning, and providing back-fill participant care as assigned.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and inform proficiency in all essential function of PACE Recreation Therapy role per job description. Develop, organize and update participant and clinician resource as needed. Able to effectively and efficiently review health science literature on topic such as: social work diagnosis, practice, participant management, outcome, health policy, communication, research, and social determinant of health, diversity/equity/inclusion, and communicate that information through verbal, written, and/or electronic mean in order to promote best practice. Act as a resource for social work staff and IDT regarding the above information.

  • Effectively communicate with Medical Director, Director of Operation, Rehab Manager, and Site Operations manager and staff about clinical information as it is updated.

  • Effectively collaborate with outside agencies for WA PACE recreation therapy work including oversight and coordination of student training program.

  • Support recreation therapy quality improvement metric and initiative.

  • Keep informed of PACE program regulation change, changing healthcare environment need, changing department procedure, and collaborate with the Medical Director, Director of Operations, Rehab Manager, and Site Operations Managers to develop WA PACE recreation therapy strategies to respond to these change.

  • Schedules and leads discipline team meeting.

  • Organize and/or participate in program outreach opportunities.

  • Responsible for ADH program quality oversight and development at all PACE center, including providing group facilitation training, resource acquisition, new program development tailored to meet the unique need of participant, evaluation of programming to ensure participant satisfaction, and coordination with all clinical discipline to provide group that meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial need of PACE participant.

  • Provide discipline-specific orientation to all new WA PACE recreation therapy staff. Complete initial and yearly recreation therapy-specific competencies with recreation therapy staff. Complete routine documentation review and practice observation for clinical appropriateness.

  • Involved in organizing the mentorship program within their specialty. May provide formal or informal mentorship to staff as needed and appropriate.

  • Assist Site Manager and Rehab Manager to coordinate care during staff LOA. Provide back-fill coverage for participant care need.

  • Serve as the WA Clinical Excellence representative for their discipline. Assign or fill the role of Epic Superuser for their discipline and participate in other organization committees as needed.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy

  • Three (3) years Related patient-care setting

  • CTRS Certification required in state where practicing

  • American Heart Association Adult CPR or equivalent certification required at time of hire

  • A valid driver’s license and have access to daily use of an insured reliable vehicle or an alternate ability to travel to sites

  • Able to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree in Health Care Leadership or Administration

  • Three (3) years Working with a geriatric population
