Providence Health & Services Associate Physician Recruiter in Portland, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Associate Physician Recruiter to our location in Portland, OR.

We are seeking an Associate Physician Recruiter to be responsible for all physician recruitment sourcing functions including: outreach visits, conference attendance, initial contact, internet sourcing, reference checks, and building relationships with physician candidates. The Associate Physician Recruiter works in close collaboration with recruiters and managers, and Physician Support Services teams throughout the five-state region

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with service line and regional recruiters and managers, understands and participates in the sourcing process for physician recruitment activities throughout Alaska, California, Montana, Washington and Oregon.

  • Initiates sourcing functions, including: outreach, advertising/marketing, initial contact, internet sourcing, etc.

  • Partners with Physician Services & Development team to develop sourcing-specific materials to support recruitment activities (i.e., practice opportunity summaries, compensation and benefit data, community information, etc.).

  • Partners with regional executives, practice managers/medical directors to develop long range recruitment plans.

  • Guides all sourcing and recruiting activities in a manner that conforms to applicable laws.

  • Maintains working knowledge of all service areas and practice opportunities.

  • Maintains ties with residency/fellowship programs, in conjunction with residency/fellowship lead.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • BA/BS or equivalent in human resources, management or health-related field.

  • Knowledge of and ability to craft strategic and business plans, practice performance development plans and monthly / annual reports.

  • Excellent public relations and sales abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects/recruitment priorities simultaneously.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1-3 years recruitment experience.
