Providence is calling a Central Refill Services Specialist 1 - Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR. The first 10 weeks will involve trainig at our Office Park location, and after that you will have the potential to go remote. Hours for this position are M-F 9am to 5:30pm, 5 8-hour shifts.

We are seeking a Central Refill Services Specialist 1 - Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy which is a clinical position that will assist in all aspects of processing prescription refill authorization requests. Under the supervision of pharmacy services and working within established protocols, the Central Refill Services Specialist 1 acts as an agent for the provider to authorize prescription refills. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing patients with exceptional customer service and serving as the liaison between patients, physicians and pharmacies..
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Act as an agent of Providers, authorize prescriptions refills within PMG protocol using the (EMR) while maintaining department level productivity and quality standards
Utilize multiple complex workflows to determine appropriate response to a wide variety of scenarios within various refill requests
Research medication-related patient health information
Process and triage requests in a timely manner
Provide clear and concise documentation within the medical record
Communicate with patients and/or patient representatives in a manner that is appropriate for age and level of understanding to purvey prescription information
Work collaboratively with physicians, pharmacists, and pharmacies and maintain updated process information
Effectively and appropriately respond to patients, pharmacies, pharmacists, and clinic staff
Respond to changes in workload schedule and re-prioritize as necessary; continually use time in a productive manner to meet workload demands including phone volume, incoming faxes, e-prescribing and patient/provider responses
Refer all questions of a clinical nature to a clinical pharmacist
Maintain updated program information
Report to the Supervisor/Manager any suggestions for positive changes or recommendations within the scope of the department function, and in view of existing policies and procedures
Required qualifications for this position includes:
National Pharmacy Technician certification
Three (3) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician
