Providence Health & Services Certified Nursing Assistant 2 - Orthopedics in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 - Orthopedics (0.6FTE, Evenings) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
The CNA2 will work on a 24-bed orthopedics unit and will work 4, 8 hour evening shifts per week. The CNA2 will rotate weekend shifts as well.
This is a newer unit that serves patients that are typically post-surgical and have gone through elective total joint replacements. We have the capability of doing telemetry monitoring for our patients and have a disease specific certification from Joint Commission for total knee and hip program. Additionally, we do innovative work around decreasing our length of stay for this population (patients are generally here for 0 - 3 days).
The Ortho unit consists of a team of highly collaborative caregivers that have a shared decision making structure/culture. Our focus is on our patients who reside in private, large rooms with space for family members. We feel this is important for advocacy of the patient. The Orthopedics unit is intent on patient care and providing learning opportunities and experience for our caregivers. The Orthopedic Unit is dedicated to an excellent patient and staff experience.

In this position, you will:
Assist a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.
Perform all duties in a caring and respectful manner that promotes team functioning and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.
Consistently uphold standards of confidentiality, punctuality and attendance.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or ''grandfathered'' to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements
Current, active certificate to practice as a CNA 2 in Oregon
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. New onboarding caregivers must have a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year of experience as a CNA 2
