Providence Health & Services Clinical Chaplain (OnCall, Days) in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Clinical Chaplain (On-Call, 0.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Home Services Building in Portland,OR. While this position is On-Call, the days this person will be scheduled to work are often agreed upon at least 1-2 weeks in advance, according to staffing needs. This person's time will be spent managing the caseload needs of chaplains who are not scheduled to work and assisting high census chaplains with their caseloads. As a result, each day will uniquely vary as one assesses and prioritizes the current patient/family spiritual needs. This person will cover a caseload covering the east and west side of the Portland metro area. In order to be successful in this role, strong organizational and time management skills are vital, as is the ability to work independently within the framework of a strong team. Finally, one can expect to orient three or more days per week for the first month (training time) in order to best integrate this role's duties.
In this position you will:
Provide Pastoral Care to Hospice patients, families and hospice staff under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Care and in conjunction with the Hospice Program Manager.
Perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates our Core values: Respect, Compassion, Justice, Excellence and Stewardship.
Required Qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in theology, divinity or a related field
Minimum 1 CPE unit required
Must have endorsement from sponsoring religious community
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire
Current drivers license and your own, dependable transportation
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 “Background Checks”, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Pastoral Care chaplaincy in a healthcare setting with bereavement and/or hospice experience
