Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Clinical Program Services (CPS) Consultant PSJH to our location in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Clinical Program Services (CPS) Consultant PSJH who will understand the data needs of clinical service lines, facilitate the delivery of analytic solutions to meet those needs, and partner with their teams in driving improvement work.
A successful individual in this role will find deep satisfaction in understanding the needs of practicing clinicians and their administrative peers and in delivering analytic products and services that help them deliver better care at lower cost.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Serve as a regular participant in clinical program leadership councils to understand the kinds of problems each institute is trying to solve.
Synthesize client operational needs with data expertise and clinical knowledge to identify core functionality and requirements that meet the end user’s needs, even if these needs are not fully expressed.
Lead discovery sessions with clinical and administrative leaders regarding particular improvement projects and the anticipated data needs to lead them successfully.
Inform other Clinical Analytics Clinical Program Services managers of evolving CPS initiatives and related data and analytic needs.
Develop timelines, deliverables, and overall strategy in coordination with the Clinical Analytics Clinical Program Services managers.
Participate in the processes for managing intake and resourcing of projects using agile software (e.g., Azure DevOps), in conjunction with other intake and prioritization mechanisms such as Healthcare Intelligence intake and Clinical Care project prioritization.
Set up tools and communication strategies in order to provide visibility across all projects both internal to Clinical Analytics and to external Clinical Program leadership.
Working as a virtual manager, guide the work of Data Engineers that are focused on a subset of clinical areas assigned to this role.
Help shape the analytic approach, including visualization methods used to communicate findings.
Clarify and iterate on the business requirements for new data.
Using improvement methods, guide the analytic discovery of practice variation and develop hypothesis on the drivers for improvement.
Partner with Clinical Program Services teams in planning improvement work that is informed by data.
Develop understanding of the short and long-term data needs for the assigned Clinical Programs to advise the best design for data assets and visualization tools.
Work with the Functional Manager for Data Engineering to influence departmental data strategy to include assigned clinical programs needs in enterprise-wide data models.
Expert analytic resource in multiple clinical subject areas with a very strong understanding of the characteristics and use of clinical and financial data.
Familiar with the use of key data products and reporting objects produced within Clinical Analytics for needs outside of CPS to promote synergistic product development.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Health Sciences, Informatics, Mathematics, Liberal Arts, System Science, Epidemiology, Computer Science, or comparable disciplines or an equivalent combination of skills and experience and;
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Medicine, or other clinical discipline with significant clinical exposure.
7 years progressive responsibility in managing complex programs and/or projects, and providing support to senior and executive leadership (large healthcare provider preferred).
5 years analytical software, systems, tools, and processes involving healthcare data experience.
3 years experience working with Electronic Health Records, clinical databases and registries, and quality/outcome measures.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
