Providence Health & Services Crisis Intervention Specialist - Emergency Services in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Crisis Intervention Specialist (0.9 FTE, Nights) to the Emergency Department at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
At Providence, our goal is to provide health care to people we serve, which includes behavioral health needs. Our model of care has “three doors” – clinics, hospital inpatient units and emergency departments. As an integral member of emergency department, our crisis intervention are present 365 days a year to provide support, conduct assessments and present their findings to the treatment team to collaboratively determine the best level of care and resources that can be provided for the patient and their family members.
The schedule for this position is Wednesday - Friday from 7pm - 7:30am. This position is considered non-exempt with hourly based pay with a shift differential.
In this position, you will:
Practice in a treatment setting under clinical supervision and be dedicated to evaluate and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders.
Collaborate with patient/support system to evaluate and diagnose patients.
Provide specialized psychotherapy services, as described in the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), to reduce and/or resolve symptoms of psychiatric and/or substance use disorders identified.
Utilize established approaches and standards under direct clinical supervision.
Complete assessment of patient risk to self and/or others.
Complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety.
Incorporate evidence based approaches to psychotherapy including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and the recovery model.
Demonstrate effectiveness in individual, group and family psychotherapy and multi-modal treatment settings under clinical supervision.
Work under clinical supervision, in a licensing board approved plan of supervision to achieve licensure with a Board qualified supervisor certified by the appropriate Oregon state Board.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree eligible for licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in accordance with the appropriate Oregon Board of licensure
Clinical Social Work Associates (CSWA), or LPC Registered Intern, or LMFT Registered Intern from the appropriate Oregon Board within 6 months of hire
Clinical licensure within the deadlines established by the appropriate Oregon board of licensure
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification at time of hire, or within 60 days of hire
Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) training within 60 days of hire; re-certification required annually
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year of completed masters level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship
Experience in substance use treatment setting
