Providence Echocardiograph Technologist in Portland, Oregon

Description

$10,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

Required qualifications:

  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire; or

  • National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire; or

  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.

  • Oregon Sonographer upon hire.

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

  • 1 year experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations OR minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.

  • Pediatric echocardiography experience.

  • Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).

  • Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center)
