Providence is calling an Epic Lab/Beaker Applications Supervisor to Providence Health & Services in either Torrance CA, Burbank, CA, Portland OR, Beaverton OR, Renton WA, Seattle WA, Anchorage AK or Missoula MT
We are seeking a Applications Supervisor to provide excellence in application planning, implementation and support for Providence Health and Services (PH&S) and affiliated organizations. This position has technical expertise to provide recommendations for work management processes and efficiencies, provides analysis and priority and assigns work. This position is responsible for providing an environment that promotes a high level of client and employee satisfaction, continuous improvement, and the accurate execution of policy and procedures to support the internal and external clients of Providence. This position is responsible for daily staffing and staff structure optimization and recommendations. This position utilizes effective project management and root cause analysis techniques. Additional responsibilities include providing assistance in the development, support and execution of goals and objectives and assistance in the development and execution of the capital and operating budgets for assigned areas.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Implements appropriate service delivery models for core application functions in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.
Responsible for working with staff in ensuring adherence to standards, and continuously evaluating the effectiveness of application systems.
Monitors the performance of applications within their domain and evaluates the performance of services on the basis of specific KPIs.
Monitor team and project expenditures and participate in the budgeting process.
Assists in developing budgets and the expenditures for information services related to applications in partnership with other peers.
Escalates critical issues, problems or delays in production, projects or any other issues that has an impact on the customer.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associates degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
3 years of Information Services leadership experience, and 5 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Key experience highlights include: Demonstrated ability to successfully execute operational plans for highly complex issues and applications; healthcare information services operations and support; experience standardizing complex and disparate processes; understanding of methodologies related to application management such as system deployment, support, and life cycle; experience in process improvement methodology, change management, operational improvement in complex systems. Must have proven ability to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization both verbally and in written form. Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary groups and to accomplish work through leads, or high level individual contributors.
Must be action oriented and possess superior judgment, critical thinking, problem solving and cognitive skills.
Ability to comprehend customer business needs with respect to customers’ requests and PH&S IS objectives, mission and core values.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and information needs across team domain, as well as, organize short-term responsibilities in response to changing demands.
Respected leadership skills, particularly in the areas of application life-cycle management with an understanding of core vendor roadmaps.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise information technology in a specific team domain.
Ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others within the team and with peers.
Excellent written and verbal communications.
Possesses solid planning and organizing capabilities.
Proficiency with MS Office suite of products.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related IS or healthcare field.
