Providence is calling a Life Safety Code and EC Manager, Accreditation Support to Providence Health & Services in Renton,WA or Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Life Safety Code and EC Manager, Accreditation Support to be responsible for assessing and advising organizations on compliance with LSC and Environment of Care requirements. The Manager will oversee development of System-wide strategies to meet existing and emerging requirements to meet patient, visitor, and employee safety needs in a cost effective way. The Manager will serve as expert resource for code and standard requirements and will provide onsite and remote consultation during and between outside inspections/surveys. The Manager will develop and implement communication and education strategies to support skill and knowledge sharing across the System.
In this position you will:
Provide onsite assessment of compliance with NFPA LSC and Joint Commission Environment of Care/LSC standards during Core Surveys or as otherwise scheduled.
Provide written report of observations to Core Survey team leader and reference standards.
Provide in-depth review of facility plan for meeting LSC requirements and makes recommendations as to strategies for compliance.
Be available for phone consultation or electronic review as requested.
Maintain expert knowledge of LSC, CMS, TJC, and DNV requirements and specifications and serve as System expert for advisement on code requirements.
Provide onsite support during surveys when feasible, and provides guidance for post survey activities, such as plan of correction and data collection to support evidence of standard compliance.
Maintain current knowledge and expertise in NFPA LSC and Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety standards.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors or equivalent training.
Formal training in NFPA code.
At least 5 years’ experience as Fire Marshal or equivalent.
3 years in leadership role for environment of care or emergency management.
Requires regular travel to multiple states.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- NIMS training.
