We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Enterostomal Therapy and Wound Care that will be under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, administers routine services in caring for selected acute, sub-acute, chronic and convalescent patients.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Under the clinical supervision of the RN, the LPN shall:
Conduct focused assessments by collecting data through observations, examinations, interviews, and recording in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner; reporting abnormal or unexpected data to the RN
Contribute to the development, updating, and implementation of a comprehensive plan of care or develop a focused plan of care
Evaluate client responses to nursing interventions, progress toward measurable outcomes, and communicate such to appropriate members of the health care team
Engage in ongoing professional development; practice to the top of license within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, the Nursing Social Policy Statement, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards
Participate in identifying any spiritual, emotional and social factors which may require referral to other disciplines
Understand and utilize existing lines of communication
Maintain current awareness of and comply with the Quality Management Program including awareness of unit indicators and participants as indicated
Maintain satisfactory attendance at nursing unit education programs
Attend nursing unit in-services/meetings and other
LPNs with IV training and demonstrated competency may perform selected IV functions under the supervision of the registered nurse; LPNs may not perform administration of Chemotherapy or Immunotherapy
LPNs may not manage epidurals
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Graduate of an approved school for practical nurse
Coursework/Training: IV Therapy course and competency demonstration
Currently licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
