Providence Marketing Coordinator in Portland, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Marketing Coordinator to our location in Portland, OR.

Provider Solutions & Development, a wholly owned LLC of Providence, is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our expanding marketing team. PS&D is a community of experts founded within Providence, a purpose-driven, 51-hospital health system, over 20 years ago out of a clear need to change recruitment. Today we support Providence and dozens of health systems across the country, offering holistic, personal career coaching and recruiting for physicians and advanced practice clinicians. From day one, the Marketing Coordinator will contribute to existing marketing programs, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with company and client goals. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital marketing, and social media. The marketing coordinator must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • As a copywriter and member of the Content Team, you will write and edit copy for a variety channels, with an emphasis on copy.

  • Work Closely with our Recruitment and Marketing teams to develop compelling job postings that will attract the right physicians and advanced practice clinicians. You will be skilled at researching and understanding our client's needs and target audiences through online searches, reviews of existing research, and interviews with subject matter experts, and meetings.

  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback and direction. The ideal candidate will be personable, positive, collaborative, and have excellent communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will be open to constructive feedback, and have a knack for working back and forth with colleagues to create a polished end-product.

  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Personas, and how to integrate them effectively into Marketing copy

  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand.

  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.

  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications or equivalent education/experience.

  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing and social media marketing.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent education/experience.

  • 1 year experience with marketing, advertising or communications.

  • 1 year experience in in healthcare setting.

  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.

  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint.
