Providence Health & Services Massage Therapist in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Massage Therapist - Hospice Access (0.6 FTE, Days) to HS Building in Portland, OR

This is a 24 hour per week position. Day shift, 3 days per week. This is a benefits eligible position.

We are seeking a Massage Therapist - Hospice Access that will provide safe, effective and appropriate Swedish massage services to clients, taking into account individual clients physical or age-related needs. Perform health history on clients and updates prior to each session. Ascertain precautions/contradictions for massage prior to each session. Explain procedures and applies Swedish massage techniques appropriate to client needs and preferences.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive and individualized massage therapy plan using Swedish massage techniques only

  • Provide safe, therapeutic Swedish massage therapy services to clients

  • Assess client's current physical status and develops goals and establishes interventions as appropriate to patient's age, condition and learning needs

  • Re-assess and change plan for intervention as warranted by the client's condition and response to massage

  • Select safe and effective massage techniques as appropriate for the age and condition of the client.

  • Communicate effectively in the professional environment with clients and visitors

  • Communicate frequently and effectively with others involved in client's care as appropriate

  • Provide and maintains accurate, thorough, legible and timely patient related documentation, handwritten and/or computerized, in accordance with Program policy and procedure

  • Perform duties in compliance with departmental policies, procedures, timelines, and productivity standards


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school of massage

  • Current Massage Therapy licensure through the State of Oregon

  • AHA BLS required within 30 days of hire
