Providence Health & Services Medical Staff Specialist in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Medical Staff Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to the Groth Building in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Medical Staff Specialist who will provide support for the Oregon Region Medical Staff Services and Professional Staff Organization functions and responsibilities at the direction of the Medical Staff Manager. The Medical Staff Specialist is responsible for organizing and completing various job duties and components to support the Credentialing and Medical Staff Coordinators including administrative budgeting and scheduling responsibilities.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Contribute to the effective functioning of the department by providing administrative assistance, not limited to filing, faxing, scanning, and SharePoint management.
Perform various administrative assignments and clerical duties in support of regional committee preparation.
Participate in professional staff budgeting processes, which may include annual Professional Staff dues, leadership stipends, contract processing, and quarterly ED call reconciliation for stipend payments.
Participate in the organization of specialty Emergency call contracting with providers and provider groups, which may include processes for scheduling and electronically posting schedules for most of the Oregon Region.
Participate in the on-boarding process, which may include electronic health record provisions/access.
Accurately respond to request for verification of hospital affiliations.
Participate in the process for continual monitoring and updating of expiring documentation required for Professional Staff membership and privileges.
Coordinate the annual review of Allied Health Professional Evaluations to ensure maintenance of competency and requirements for each practitioner.
Enter, update, and maintain computerized information of Professional Staff members and Allied Health Practitioners for Oregon Region.
Assist in the preparation of Annual Professional Staff Leadership Retreats and Training.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or General Education
Two (2) years of related experience, including computerized functions and working knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience with office procedures and the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated experience in professional communication with all levels of the ministries and regional offices.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
