Providence is calling a Member Service Representative to the Credit Union Branch at Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), day shift position. Expected schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:15am-4:15pm.

We are seeking a Member Service Representative that will providesmembers with efficient, friendly, prompt service in person or by telephone for all member service transactions and information requests.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner

  • Present and explain Credit Union services and products to members and assists in meeting their financial needs

  • Order checks for member's account

  • Complete payroll deduction and authorization forms

  • Keep members informed of Credit Union services and policies, including types of available accounts, interest and dividend rates, payroll deduction options and other related services

  • Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services

  • Keep supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns

  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure and well maintained

  • Provide routine information by phone, email and in person concerning credit union products & services

  • Attend to members in office, giving prompt, friendly, courteous attention

  • Handle over the counter, mail deposits, night deposits and loan payments

  • Sell cashier checks, visa gift cards and visa travel money cards

  • Prepare and disburse share withdrawals and transfer requests by phone

  • Handle, receive, and disburse cash

  • Account for cash drawer daily. Balances cash drawer at night

  • Balance vault daily

  • Set up new member accounts, and closed account requests

  • Run credit reports, chex systems and OFAC as needed

  • Order, maintain, and balance vault cash daily

  • Assist members with notary public certifications

  • Be responsible for issuance, maintenance of safe deposit boxes

  • Be responsible for the ordering coordination of new member packets/check supplies

  • Communicate supply/ordering needs to AVP of Operations and or Loan Officer

  • Able to resolve member relation matters to the satisfaction of the member and the credit union

  • Provide exceptional member service including efficient and accurate transaction processing

  • Process batched cashed checks

  • Process credit card cash advances

  • Process incoming and outgoing wires

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Must possess one or more of the following:

  • Credit union or financial services experience

  • Accounting background

  • One (1) year employment in a customer service position that required cash handling

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Credit union or financial services experience
