Providence Health & Services Neurology Stroke in Portland, Oregon

Description:

Portland, Oregon – The Providence Brain & Spine Institute (PBSI), a center of excellence within Providence Health & Services, is seeking a Stroke Neurologist to join the Providence Stroke Center. The PBSI is the Northwest’s premier neurosciences center, with established clinical and research programs in MS, Stroke, ALS, dementia, and neurosurgery. Clinical programs further include movement disorders, epilepsy, orthopedic spine surgery, neuroradiology, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and gamma knife. The new physician will become part of a regional Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center consisting of two major hub hospitals in Portland, our team of 7 board certified stroke neurologists, a 22-hospital Telestroke Network, and extensive ongoing clinical trial and epidemiologic research. The new stroke team member will join a team of seven board-certified vascular neurologists and seven BC/BE neurointensivists. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient rounding on neurology consult service, stroke/telestroke call coverage and staffing stroke clinic.

The Providence Brain & Spine Institute is a renowned neuroscience center focused on leading neurological innovative care models and clinical research. The Institute specializes in stroke and acute rehab, neurosurgery, orthopedic spine, MS, dementia, ALS, epilepsy and other clinical and research programs. The Institute is partnered with the broader Providence Medical Group (PMG) representing more than 70 clinics across this diverse and scenic state. PMG’s 550-plus Oregon providers have a wide range of clinical expertise, including Family and Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, Dermatology, General Surgery, Neurology and Hospital Medicine.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology

  • Oregon Medical License (MD or DO)

  • BLS or ACLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
