We are seeking a Manager Nursing - Eastside Oncology Hematology that will be accountable for the provision and quality of nursing services at the facility level for a defined department(s), in support of Providence Health & Services System and Regional goals. This includes strategically ensuring a balance of optimal and efficient patient care; staff, patient, and physician satisfaction; and cooperative partnerships with other organizational departments and professional groups. With a constant focus on patient-centeredness and staff and patient safety, the Nurse Manager creates and maintains standards and systems for care delivery for their department(s). These systems of care delivery promote evidence-based practice and are designed to support the management of productivity targets within a context of constant change in patient volumes, patient acuity, and available resources. Through leading in patient care delivery and planning strategically, consistently supports efficient and effective patient care services, and achieves department objectives that support the organizational and system goals. This includes advancing the strategic vision and goals of the Oregon Nursing Center of Excellence, planning for and implementing technology in support of clinical practice, creating and developing high performance teams, and providing strategic leadership. Constructively manages change and promotes a team-based approach. The incumbent role models professional nursing standards and expectations consistently by maintaining and being knowledgeable about professional and health care policies, practices and trends.

  • Demonstrate the ability to:

  • To handle risk and uncertainty by making decisions without all facts as necessary

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Current Oregon RN License

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification required within six (6) months of hire

  • Oncology Certification (OCN)

  • Oncology Nursing Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification

  • Six (6) years experience in nursing with experience in progressive leadership roles

  • Five (5) years of Progressive nursing leadership experience in inpatient medical oncology nursing

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field

  • National Certification from ANA or Professional Organization in relevant field of clinical expertise

  • Formal coursework management, finance, and other administrative subjects

  • Management experience
