Providence Patient Relations Representative Retail - Express Care Virtual in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Patient Relations Representative Retail - Ec Or Virtual Mso (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland , OR. Anticipated work schedule will be Friday-Sunday 3 to 12 hours shift. Can be flexible with 8, 10 and 12 hours as long as the position covers weekends.

We are seeking a Patient Relations Representative Retail - Ec Or Virtual Mso that will be the first point of contact to patients. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service over the phone and the virtual visit platform. The PRR is responsible for front desk, patient registration, insurance billing and payment and collection/cashiering. Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values into daily activities. Treats all others with respect and demonstrates excellence, justice and compassion in daily work and relationships with others.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and serves as first point of contact to patients

  • Facilitate communication between patients, providers, clinic staff, internal and external customers to support patient care

  • Navigate multiple and complex data systems to research and/or record pertinent information in compliance with policies

  • Operate multi-line telephone system; routes calls and responds to general inquiries

  • Register patients

  • Collect and verify accurate and complete information from patient or family member

  • Enter data in to system and updates patients' demographic and insurance information as necessary

  • Make patient appointments and monitors appointment schedules daily

  • Identify medically urgent or emergent situations and responds appropriately

  • Process clerical records and information for clinic patients including cashiering, forms and charts

  • Provide information to patients regarding financial policies and appointment or scheduling requirements

  • Ensure that clinic and/or waiting areas are clean and well maintained


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED combination of education and experience.

  • One (1) year of Customer Service experience

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Some College

  • Experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
