Providence Health & Services Patient Safety Specialist in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Patient Safety Specialist to work in NE Portland at the Providence Groth Building. This position will work closely with directors, managers and nursing teams in the hospital to identify safety events, develop root cause analysis of the events, and create and implement action plans to reduce future risk.
We're looking for a nurse with strong analytical skills who is extremely detail oriented and has a great interpersonal and political savvy.
In this position, you will:
Develop and administer programs and interventions that support a safe environment for patients of Providence Health & Services Oregon.
Through proactive risk assessment, event investigation, and data analysis, identify risk areas and mitigation strategies.
Provide consultation and education to members of the care delivery team to help create an environment of continuous quality and process improvement.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current, unencumbered Oregon state Registered Nurse (RN) license
Bachelor degree in nursing
5 years of acute care experience in a progressively responsible position requiring contact with various departments is essential
Must be a self-starter
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and professional medical staff
Demonstrated leadership experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Health Care Quality (CPHQ)
