Providence Health & Services PBX Operator - Telecommunications in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a PBX Operator to Telecommunications at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), benefited, night shift position. Schedule is Tuesday - Friday, 11:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

We are seeking a PBX Operator who will operate telecommunications console in placing, receiving and relaying calls. Answer all incoming calls. Perform paging, code announcements and other duties in accordance with approved policies and procedures

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Receive and process all external, internal, and long distance calls to the facility through a complex multi-line phone system.

  • Operate the public address system which includes paging of physicians, medical personnel and all emergency codes.

  • Prioritize calls as need arises and respond appropriately to STAT, Code and other emergency calls.


Required qualifications:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hospital or large business switchboard experience.
