Providence is calling a Perioperative Aide 1 - Cardiac Operating Room (0 FTE Variable) to work at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, located in Portland, OR!

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

We are seeking a Perioperative Aide 1 - Cardiac OR

Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision and direction of the registered perioperative nurse. The Perioperative Aide assists in the OR function by cleaning and preparing operating rooms, safely transporting patients, retrieving and decontaminating equipment, stocking general supplies in the operating rooms. May provide limited patient care by assisting with opening supplies before surgery.

Patient Population Served: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment need

In this position you will:

• Assists with patient care as directed by RN. This may include transporting patients, assisting with patient admission, care, transfer, and discharge.

• Assists RN to provide appropriate environment, equipment, transport devices, and supplies according to age, size, weight and condition of patient.

• Reports all observations concerning patients to RN.

• Utilizes infection control principles, maintains orderly, clean, safe environment. May utilize Aseptic Technique, while performing duties.

• Support department as needed by ordering and organization of forms, and by maintaining stock levels.

• Assists with changeover activities.

• May be requested to cross train and to assist with orientation of perioperative assistants.

• Demonstrates commitment to teamwork, by contributing to the team to meet department needs, offering assistance to others, carrying fair share of the workload, and coordinating patient care with other members of the team.

• Contributes to resolving conflict. Utilizes problem-solving skills to promote a positive work environment and seeks assistance in resolving conflict when needed.

• Demonstrates department accountability; contributes to and attends department staff and/or education meetings; participates in department projects or committees; uses downtime productively.


Required qualifications this position include:

Recent healthcare and/or operating room experience.
