Providence is calling a Perioperative Technician - Surgical Services (1.0 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland , OR.

We are seeking for a Perioperative Technician - Surgical Services that will assist in the OR and Surgical Services Department (Pre/Post-op, Sterile Processing), cleaning and preparing patient bays and operating rooms, safely transporting patients, retrieving, decontaminating and delivering equipment, stocking general supplies, processing and maintaining equipment and instruments, and other duties assigned. May assist with prepping and opening supplies before surgery.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Anticipate case needs and takes initiative to coordinate with surgical staff and rooms to ensure all equipment, instruments and supplies are available
Support patient care throughout the patient stay from pre-operatie phase to discharge
Ensure surgical site is cleaned and shaven appropriately to surgical orders as well as surgical core clean and organized
Perform anesthesia changeovers. Calibrate monitoring equipment
Prioritize instrumentation upon arrival ensuring proper initial care. Disassemble and reassemble instruments correctly when appropriate. Inspect instruments and test for proper function
Select appropriate cleaning and disinfection method, and ensure adequate cleaning of all instrumentation
Identify and organize instrumentation in preparation for assembly, Assemble instrumentation according to pre-established guides
Ensure proper parameters for sterilization, conducting quality control measures to ensure parameters are met
Assist with operative room and patient bay cleaning, turnover, and setup
Support case needs throughout the procedure by obtaining additional equipment and supplies as needed
