Providence Pharmacy Technician – Billing and Patient Account Specialist – Infusion Pharmacy in Portland, Oregon

We are seeking a caregiver who is passionate about Pharmacy Billing and Patient Account Management. This is an in-the-office role working within a team environment. The successful candidate will proactively audit, monitor, and analyze complex infusion pharmacy dispensing and charging information, including processes and controls, to ensure revenue integrity for the Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Service ministry . Responsibility also entails adjudication (NCPDP) of infusion and related claim information specific to health insurance benefits and/or Medicare Part D coverage. This position collaborates with other Home and Community Care ministries and caregivers to respond to and resolve pharmacy billing issues and facilitate charge capture process improvements. Successful performance includes completion of all essential functions in a manner that promotes unity, collaboration and with positive contributions to team culture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire, Or

  • Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician upon hire

  • In compliance with the Providence Health and Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties upon hire

  • 3 years experience in health care or pharmacy billing, collections or medical claims processing.

  • 3 years experience with computers in data entry/inquiry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field.

  • 3 years work experience in as a pharmacy technician in specialty setting (e.g. long term care, infusion or specialty pharmacy).

  • Experience with insurance/data inquiry systems.

  • Experience using electronic medical records software.

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.
