Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician/Buyer - Ambulatory Support Services in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Resource Services Pharmacy Technician to Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

This role will work on a team that provides a wide range of high level support to Oregon Region clinics such as buying, inventory, invoicing, training new pharmacy technicians, running and generating reports, working within state funded medication programs, etc.

This is a perfect position for an experienced pharmacy tech who is looking for a role where they can learn new skills, grow their buying skills, creatively problem solve and always feel challenged!

In this position, you will:

  • Support the Manager of Pharmacy Operations in designing and building a pharmaceutical management program for Providence Medical Group (PMG) clinics throughout the Oregon region.

  • Support the clinics in inventory management, waste reduction, safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain efficient systems for ordering, receiving, managing and reconciling orders and inventory.

  • Be responsible for the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of information received and subsequent communication of that information.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes the team concept and reflects the mission and philosophy of the People of Providence.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Registration with the State of Oregon Board of Pharmacy

  • National certification within 6 months of employment

  • 3 years experience as Certified Pharmacy Technician (equivalent clinic/health care experience may be considered at the discretion of hiring manager)

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and biologic nomenclature

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • National certification upon hire

  • Experience in inventory control

  • Competent use of all Microsoft Office elements
