Providence Health & Services Prosector in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Prosector (1.0 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Be responsible for rendering professional services in the Department of Histology, under the general supervision of a Pathologist or Pathologists' Assistant or Histology Supervisors.
Perform limited surgical pathology examinations, assisting, initiating, and instituting other procedures as directed by the supervising pathologist and as necessary to meet quality and service standards in the Regional Pathology Policies and as directed by Regional Lab Administration.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must be qualified as "high complexity testing personnel" under CLIA regulations
Minimum training/experience is:
Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution -or-
Education/training equivalent to the above that includes at least 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution. This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology course -or-
24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience as a Pathology Lab Assistant
