We are seeking a RN Clinical Educator Coordinator that will report to the Regional Manager of Clinical Orientation and Development. The position is accountable for evaluation, coordination and administration of nursing orientation and new hire competency assessment and education support of regional emergency departments. This role also contributes to the regional clinical education effort by authoring, implementing, and evaluating clinical education and competency assessment activities on a regional basis and across the care continuum.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Coordinate, administer, and evaluate RN, LPN, CNA, Patient Care Technician, and Patient Care Assistant new hire orientation and incumbent competency assessments to include didactic instruction, critical thinking exercises, interpersonal relation exercises, and technical skills validation
Coordinate, administer, and evaluate RN, CNA, and Patient Care Technician agency staff orientation
Coordinate, administer, and evaluate ongoing competency validation for RN, CNA, and Patient Care Technician agency staff
Develop and maintain guidelines for scheduling of orientation and obtaining adequate educator staff to assist with orientation
Assist in maintaining currency of assessment components by identifying changes in nursing practice
Participate in program development to include: model answer updates; design of new or updated exercises as need dictate; design assessment answer sheet, rating, and summary forms
Develop and maintain record retention, sorting, and reporting systems to aid in compliance and evaluation activities using a computerized database management system for the tracking of assessment data and the generation of reports
Author policies and procedures related to the orientation system/process
Teach and coach the skills demonstration and validation for RN, LPN, and CNA levels
Participate in the development and administration of curriculum designed to teach and validate skill for new hire and incumbent CNA's
Monitor effectiveness, satisfaction and clinical impact of the programs offered
Coordinate, administer, and evaluate the Clinical Assessment Program (CAP) as needed for contracted agency CNA candidates
Collaborate with educators, managers, and work groups at a local, regional, and system level in matters related to clinical orientation
Communicate with ministry managers and HR to provide summary evaluations for all attendees of PRNO
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree: Master Program Enrollment
Current unencumbered licensure as an RN by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
Current BLS certification
Participation in professional organization(s)
Three (3) years experience in nursing education or leadership
Five (5) years experience in acute care nursing
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
