Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Quality Supervisor - Ambulatory Care and Education Center (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Nurse Quality Supervisors are RN leaders who make a big impact on the quality of patient care under ever-changing healthcare demands. The NQS is an innovative answer to the primary care shortage. Manage your own panel of patients, collaborate with providers to provide safe, timely, high-quality care, and coach and mentor your clinic colleagues in this role.
We are seeking an NQS to be responsible for defining and delivering clinical workflows across clinical and non-clinical staff that will have a broad impact on patient access and continuity of care. You'll work autonomously and our clinical staff will look to you for development, while focusing on initiatives to support our patients’ long-term health needs to prevent hospitalization and other health concerns. As the NQS, you have a broad understanding of the organizations, systems and workflows that are relevant to your area of focus. Your job is to innovate, evolve, improve, and streamline patient care. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, we welcome experienced RN's who are looking to grow in their leadership career and are passionate about ambulatory care.
In this position, you will:
Serve as an integral member of the clinic leadership team in bringing the professional nursing perspective and expertise to the group and upholding the standards of clinical practice.
Be responsible for the oversight and supervision of clinical staff performance, coaching, mentoring, developing, and implementing clinical best practices.
Be responsible for the oversight and supervision of clinical quality, ensuring state and federal compliance and clinical support patient care services are provided in an efficient and safe manner that is consistent with clinical best practices.
Provide direct patient care at the top of the Registered Nurse (RN) scope of practice, according to the individualized needs of the patient using the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship.
Analyze patient data with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial, spiritual, and chronological maturation process.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing -or-
Associate's nursing degree with 3 years of recent RN experience
Graduate from accredited school
Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Maintain all required licenses and certification
3-5 years of RN experience managing complex patients - or-
Successful completion of RN Ambulatory Residency program
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience working in an ambulatory setting
3 years of experience providing patient education
3 years of demonstrated experience with provided progressive leadership, clinical staff education, competency development and evaluation, staff training and performance evaluation
