Providence Senior Director, Behavioral Health in Portland, Oregon

THE ROLE

This Senior Director will oversee the Integrated Behavioral Health program within the ambulatory care group. This position will provide strategic leadership and administrative direction throughout primary and specialty care, along with continuous improvement and development across the Behavioral Health division. Ensures the accomplishment of the organization's vision, mission and values, strategic goals and achieving Triple Aim while creating a Behavioral Health infrastructure with standardized pathways and processes ensuring continuity of care with a personalized patient experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements a strategy of integrated, coordinated care throughout Providence Medical Group (PMG), including primary and specialty care.

  • Facilitates, coordinates and is accountable for all services supporting behavioral patients through every phase of their wellness at all eight campuses.

  • Develops and implements a regional care coordination strategy for behavioral health across PMG and in coordination with Ambulatory and Acute Care.

  • Build and facilitate strong partnerships with caregivers, physicians, providers and leaders to move forward strategic initiatives.

  • Hires, directs, coaches and monitors the performance of all direct reports, to develop and maintain a high-performance team that meets organizational and department goals.

  • Designs, develops, implements and evaluates PMG Behavioral Health infrastructure to achieve the highest level of service, Providence strategic goals and Triple Aim.

  • Responsible for budget development, regular monitoring, accountability and meeting all operational targets for all areas within span of control. Directs all financial activities to ensure that PMG Behavioral Health meets their fiscal objectives, including anticipating targeted outcomes, personnel, capital equipment and supplies.

  • Provides and oversees team's delivery of customer service in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.

  • Works with Communications and Public Relations to develop and implement an effective communication program with integrity around PMG Behavioral Health for the region.

  • Works with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, key administrators and Providence support services to provide advice and support that relate to the service and financial success of Behavioral Health and Providence.

  • Contributes to special projects that require multi-disciplinary approaches, serving as counsel and facilitator to build bridges with other departments and support services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate Degree in behavioral health related field (Social Work, Psychology, etc.).

  • Related Oregon licensure

  • 7 years of senior level operations administration and management experience in Primary Care Behavioral Health and other Behavioral Health clinic services.

  • Experience to include successful application of knowledge in finance, compliant charging practices, organizational systems, personnel and facility management, reimbursement strategies, regulatory agency compliance, and physician relations.

  • Strong strategic and business development planning experience

  • Experience with multiple services including outpatient services.

  • Strong team working and collaborative skills.

  • Expert knowledge in:

  • Trauma Informed Care

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapies

  • ACES research and evaluation strategies
