Providence is calling a Senior Manager, IS Applications – PSJH to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA or Portland, OR
We are seeking a Senior Manager position provides oversight and leadership for services, processes and resources related to clinical or business services for the PSJH organization. The Senior Manager is responsible for working with key stakeholders, executives, vendors, technical architects and analysts to ensure that applications are in alignment with the goals of the organization. This position will participate in recommendations on local, regional and enterprise application investments. Development and adherence to intake processes and demand management are key components of this work. The manager will be responsible to define and lead enterprise-level services to support customer solutions throughout the PSJH organization. The manager will also be responsible for participating in defining operational tactics to support strategic initiatives. This role will lead technical support teams to design, implement and interoperate disparate solutions to support. The role will also work closely with supply chain to ensure product pricing and service delivery are managed closely with the appropriate supporting documents. As part of the ongoing management of the area this person will be accountable for managing budgets, maintaining maintenance contracts, and application lifecycle. This role includes managing daily operational support as well as oversight of demand initiatives for the service line.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Develop and execute enterprise level methodology and processes to support the service lines in the portfolio. This includes adherence to said processes and methodologies.
Ensure that the Applications division is supporting the IS organization needs and meets the needs of the organization. This includes participation and execution of overall strategic plans and goals at all level of the organization.
Provide proficient verbal and written communications to all levels of the organization.
Manage customers’ expectations regarding measurement and ultimate success of Information Services projects or initiatives; ensure measureable outcomes are defined and reported.
Collaborate with various application teams to ensure they are collaborating and staying in sync on upgrades, optimization and integration where needed.
Develop team budgets and manage expenditures related to team operations. This includes creating budget plans for application growth and capital project budget requests.
Facilitate teamwork including role definition, accountability, and motivate staff. This includes performance evaluations.
Actively participate in optimization of processes, leads initiatives to improve service delivery, increase value to the organization, and promote stewardship.
Identify support requirements for applications and ensure that resourcing is maintained through demand management.
Participate and facilitate on call rotation for application continuity and disaster recovery scenarios.
Participate in development and implementation of departmental service level agreements, operating level agreements and associated key performance indicators (KPI).
Participate and assist in development of disaster recovery architecture, project and policies.
Influence customers (internal and external) to achieve organizational goals.
Escalate critical issues, problems and delays in production or projects.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Management, Business, or Healthcare oriented degree OR equivalent work experience.
Eight years Information Services Leadership experiences
Two years Enterprise clinical or business applications, EMR or Research systems implementation experience
Demonstrated analytical skills
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Build and manage effective teams
Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
Possess a high degree of initiative
Must be action oriented and possess superior judgment, critical thinking, problem solving and cognitive skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and information needs across the organization , as well as, organize short-term and long-term responsibilities in response to changing demands.
Possess solid knowledge of software contracting and financial obligations that are acquired due to software contracts.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary groups and accomplish work through supervisors, leads, or high level individual contributors.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects including assessing and managing risk.
Excellent written and verbal communications
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Seven years healthcare experience
One year Experience and/or certification in project management and working knowledge of Scrum or Agile methodologies, process improvement such as CAP or process Informatics experience is a plus
