Scientist in Immuno-Oncology/Tumor Immunotherapy
An exceptional and highly motivated individual is sought to join the Immune Monitoring Laboratory as a Scientist (non-faculty position) at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute (EACRI) within the Providence Cancer Institute. The laboratory’s long-term goal is to understand the mechanisms by which immunotherapy improves outcomes in patients with advanced malignancies and identify biomarkers of response to help identify those most likely to benefit from these agents. Primary responsibilities for this position include designing and conducting experiments associated with current clinical studies, analyzing data, and presenting results.
The Scientist will join the EACRI Immune Monitoring Laboratory (IML) to assist with assay development including high parameter (30+ color) flow cytometry, single-cell RNA-sequencing, and downstream data analysis. A PhD is required and experience in Immunology or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post-doctoral experience, expertise in data science, a record of productive research including peer-reviewed publications, the ability to work independently as well as in collaborative research efforts, and outstanding organizational skills. Experience with immunological assays, multiparameter flow cytometry, bioinformatics, and RNA sequencing (bulk and single-cell) is preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
The Scientist will QC flow cytometry data and facilitate/support flow cytometry data processing by the IML team. The Scientist will assist with designing and implementing automated analysis of spectral cytometry data. In collaboration with the EACRI Bioinformatics team, the Scientist will establish and evaluate pipelines for scRNA-seq analysis, conduct QC for scRNA-seq datasets, and keep up to date with recent developments in scRNA-seq-related technologies and analyses. The Scientist will conduct analysis of flow cytometry and scRNA-seq data for internal and external collaborators and presentations.

Required qualification:
Master's Degree in In appropriate field Or
Ph.D. in appropriate field.
2 years Biomedical research experience.
