Providence Health & Services System Laboratory Tech Director in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a System Laboratory Tech Director to Providence Strategic and Management Services in either Renton, Washington or Portland, OR.
The Laboratory Technical Director position is one that supports the Laboratory Clinical Performance Group by providing strategic, technical and vendor/contract relations management (including negotiation and maintenance of lab specific arrangements). Additionally, the Technical Director will provide continuous analysis of supply utilization, and other analytical support to the Lab CPG Group Vice President in support of RCV strategic goals. This position serves as a liaison between System and Regional Leadership and collaborates with on site operational Directors and Managers to achieve the goals of the position, especially related to standardization and regulatory compliance.
In this position you will:
Establish regular onsite visitation schedules to reassess benchmark data to
Ensure implementation of System level initiatives (targeted RCV goals).
Establish regular meetings with system lab leadership to provide overview of laboratory technical resource management and to maintain current knowledge of system lab finance and operations strategic direction.
Synchronize with Lab CPG Program Manager in order to support individual lab focus groups and initiatives and to act as a lead resource for focus groups.
Maintain and support a process for System standardization of equipment and operations as appropriate.
Participate and serve as a resource in space planning projects.
In conjunction with the Lab CPG GVP, develop System Laboratory Capital Action Plans.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Laboratory discipline
MLS-MT (ASCP) or CLS certification
5 years of experience in management of clinical laboratory hospital setting
5 year’s of progressive laboratory technical management experience
10 years of work in Clinical laboratory environment
Able to use mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
Able to analyze and interpret financial data
Knowledge of CLIA regulatory requirements including accrediting agencies such as the College of American Pathologists, State regulatory agencies, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, OSHA, OSHPD, and other regulations pertaining to Quality Assurance
Knowledge of the FDA and regulatory agencies and rules
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in MBA, other business concentration
3 years of experience in management POCT
6 years of experience in commercial laboratory experience at bench and management level
